La Casa de Maria Retreat Center presents Working with Imagery for Life Issues with Juliet Rohde-Brown, PhD

Working with Imagery for Life Issues
It is profoundly powerful to use images to ground yourself and set a course of healing and forgiveness. We will work interactively with metaphor, symbol, and guided imagery to facilitate greater joy, increased self-wisdom, and calm.

Donations are requested.
Lunch may be purchases for $14 or you may bring your own lunch.

An Image for 2012

Blessings for the New Year

Each moment from all sides rushes to us
The summons to love.
Do you want to come with us?
This is not the time to stay at home
But to go out and give yourself to the garden…

Coco’s Jungle

Jungle by Claudia (Coco) Rohde

I just had to share my 7-yr-old niece’s painting with you. It is her impression of a jungle.

Imagery International

Our Imagery International conference this past weekend went extremely well. The theme was Hope and New Beginnings and we had an array of inspiring presenters. Attendees found the experiential components particularly meaningful. I feel honored the be the current President of this wonderful organization.

We had our Board meeting and retreat on Monday and we have already come up with a date for next year’s conference. It will be October 4-6, 2012 at Mercy Center in Burlingame, CA. The theme will be Imagery and the Soul. We would love to have you join us.

The Mercy Center property has a beautiful labyrinth which you can see in the photo I have included here. I walked the labyrinth in solitude late one evening with only the stars in the night sky to light the way. It was a numinous experience.

I have much gratitude to all of the people who made this beautiful event happen. We could not have done it without you.

A Recommendation

I recently had the pleasure and honor of attending an open house at the Santa Ynez Valley Therapeutic Riding Program (H.E.L.P). I was quite impressed with what is happening over there and I wanted to share it with you. I will quote from their brochure:
“The HELP program involves therapists and horses in an experiential approach that has international recognition as an evidence-based treatment strategy designed for various client groups. Horses provide powerful metaphors for life challenges and act as mirrors to our behavior. The horse-human encounter provides opportunities for learning about relationships as well as internal emotional challenges.”
